Last Will and Testament Of Hannah M. Clough

I, Hannah M Clough of the town of Coxsackie, Greene County New York being of sound mind but mindful of the uncertainties of human life do make publish and declare this my last Will and Testament as follows to wit:

First: I will and direct my executors hereinafter named to pay all my just debts, funeral and Testamentary expenses, and to purchase a tomb stone, square in design, suitably inscribed not to cost less than forty dollars and set the same at the head of my grave and I direct that these expenses shall be paid from the money realized on my Bonds and mortgages.

Second: I give and bequeath to my beloved husband John Clough Jr. the sum of three hundred dollars cash now in the Catskill Savings Bank together with the accumulated interest thereon.

Third: I will and direct my executors hereinafter named to give to my beloved brother Jacob R. Jansen the sum of three hundred dollars to be paid from the moneys realized on my Bonds and mortgages.

Fourth: All the rest residue and remainder of all my property both real and personal, I give devise and bequeath to my three beloved nieces viz: Carrie Gardner (wife of Ellis Gardner) of Pittsfield Mass. Ida Jansen (wife of Elmer Jansen niece by marriage) also of Pittsfield Mass., and Nora Stall, (wife of Jacob H. Stall) of Coxsackie, Greene County New York, to be divided equally between them Share and share alike. In the event of the death of any of my said nieces before my decease I will and direct that their interest or share shall be given to their children equally share and share alike, and in the event of the death of my beloved niece Nora Stall without issue then and in that event I will and direct that her interest or share in my estate shall be given to her husband, Jacob H. Stall.

Fifth: I hereby nominate and appoint my beloved husband John Clough Jr. and my beloved nephew by marriage Jacob H. Stall the executors of this my last Will and Testament hereby giving and granting unto my executors full power to sell and convey any and all real estate, which I may own at my death, and to settle compound and compromise any and all claims in favor of or against my estate, and I hereby direct that no bonds shall be required of my said executors or either of them in the settlement of my estate, hereby revoking all former wills by me made.

In witness whereof, I have hereinafter set my hand and seal this 12th day of October A. D. 1896

Signed, sealed, published and declared by the said Testatrix to be her last Will and Testament in our presence who at her request in her presence, and in the presence of each other here signed our names as witnesses
