GRACE HADRANYI
Grace Hadranyi, 90, died on her birthday, Saturday, March 24, at the Kingston Hospital after a brief illness.
She was the daughter of Steven Z. and Anna F., and was born on March 24, 1917 in Glendale, L.I.
Grace left New York City in 1945 and moved to Lanesville, NY, where she raised a son and a daughter. She and her husband, Albert, ran Notch Inn, a boarding house, for many years. In her later years, she also helped run Steve’s campsites, Inc. She was a former New York City model and secretary.
Survivors include her daughter, Barbara Hadranyi of Muncie, Indiana; her son Steven Hadranyi, of Lanesville, NY. She is also survived by three nephews Donald Blasko of Ghent, NY, Ronald Margittay of Crystal, Minnesota and Richard Margittay of Dearborn, Michigan, and by her niece Renee Wielt of Marco Island, Florida.
She was predeceased by her five cousins and her only sister Lillian and by her husband, Albert B.
A simple graveside service was conducted at St. Michael’s Cemetery, Astoria, Queens, on April 4.
Arrangements were made by the Aston-Basagic Funeral Home, Hunter, NY.

JUNE LOIS COE
WINDHAM – June Lois Coe, born to the late Thomas and Florence Decker of Windham, passed away at home with family at her side after a long illness on Saturday, April 7, 2007.
She was predeceased by her husband Vernon Coe, Sr., son Vernon Coe, Jr., and brother Don Decker.
She is survived by her sister Arlene Cushman of Malone, NY; brother Dale Decker of Ashland; daughter Judy and her husband Bill Wind of Ohio; son Gary Coe and his wife Doreen of Windham; daughter Julie Coe of Ohio; son Gene Coe and his wife Karen of Windham; 14 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
June was a devoted housewife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed gardening, berrying, baking, fishing and garage sales.
In lieu of flowers, June requested that donations be sent to the Columbia-Greene Community Hospice. Services will be held Thursday, April 12 at the Ashland Community church at 11 a.m. Arrangements made by Decker Funeral Home, Windham.

ELIZABETH S. DOWNING
WINDHAM/WEEDSPORT – Elizabeth S. Downing, 88, of Weedsport, NY, formerly of Port Crane, NY, passed away at Auburn Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.
She was retired from New York Telephone and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. She was a member of the Port Crane United Methodist Church and a long time member of the Sunshine Singers.
She was predeceased by her husband Clayton Downing; parents William M. and Elizabeth (Gorseline) Spencer; brother Daniel V. Spencer; and great niece Rachel Curay.
She is survived by brother William and wife Phyllis B. Spencer of Whitney Point, NY; nephew Daniel Spencer of Endwell, and his mother Sheryl Geisler of Unadilla; nephew William B. Spencer of Marcellus, NY; nieces Judith A. Spencer of Walton, NY, Elaine P. Schneider of Jordan, NY and Beverly G. Curay of Jacksonville, FL; 12 great-nieces and nephews and many other special friends that blessed her life.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Port Crane United Methodist Church, 39 Pine St., P. O. Box 91, Port Crane, NY 13833.
Services will be held on Thursday, April 12, at 1 p.m. at the Decker Funeral Home, Windham, followed by burial in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Ashland. There will be no calling hours.

SALLY TIMMONS
WINDHAM – Sally Timmons, 91, of Windham died on April 7, 2007 at Robinson Terrace Nursing Home, Stamford, NY.
Born on Feb. 16, 1916, in South Ozone Park, NY, she was the daughter of Nicholas and Annie (Doyle) Timmons.
Sally moved to Windham in 1984 from South Ozone Park to live with her sister Maggie. She originally worked as a hairdresser and then for Chase Manhattan Bank, working in the International Banking Department located in NYC. She was a member of St. Theresa’s R. C. Church and a long time member of the Ladies Guild at St. Theresa’s Church. Sally also enjoyed traveling when she was able to do so. She was predeceased by her sister Maggie Landers; brothers Nick and Andy Timmons; nephews Chris Landers and Brian Timmons; nieces Nancy Boehm and Pat Smith and many grand nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held at Decker Funeral Home, Windham, NY, on Thursday, April 12 from 6 to 8 p.m. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Friday, April 13, at St. Theresa’s at 10 a.m. Rev. James Schiffer will be the celebrant. Interment will be at the Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Ashland, at the convenience of the family.

EDWARD (BUDDY) REINOLD
Edward (Buddy) Reinold, age 84, of Windham, NY, formerly of the Bronx, died on Thursday, April 12, 2007, with his family surrounding him in love and prayers at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter’s Hospital, Albany, NY.
He was born in Queens, NY, on May 19, 1922, to Harold C. Reinold and Margaret (nee McGlynn) Reinold. He was a decorated World War II Army Air Force Veteran, and served in the European Theater, as a Staff Sergeant and Top Turret Gunner on B-24 Bombers. He worked for the City of New York Housing Authority, Local 237, as an elevator mechanic for 35 years, retiring in 1988.
After the passing of his wife, Frances (nee Heron) in 1991, he moved to Staten Island to live with his daughter, Margaret, son-in-law John Gulino, and two grandsons Daniel and Edward Gulino. He again moved with them to Windham, NY, in 1996 and stayed with them until his death.
Mr. Reinold was also predeceased by his parents and brother, Harold.
He is survived by his daughter, son-in-law and grandsons and his brothers George Reinold and John Reinold; sister Margaret Davis; sister-in-law Helen Garcia and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours were held at the Decker Funeral Home, Windham on Sunday, April 15. Mass of the Resurrection was held Monday, April 16, at St. Theresa of the Child Jesus R. C. Church in Windham with the Rev. James Schiffer presiding. Interment to follow at Moravian Cemetery, Staten Island, NY.
In lieu of flowers, donations made in his memory to the Community Hospice of Albany County, 315 Sough Manning Blvd., Albany, NY 12208, would be greatly appreciated.

KATHRYN M. SCOTT
SOMERSWORTH, NH – Kathryn M. Scott, 91, of Tri City Rd., died Wednesday, April 4, 2007, a the Wentworth-Douglass Hospital, surrounded by her family.
She was born in Brooklyn, NY, February 29, 1916, the daughter of Thomas and Alma (Ludwig) Quist.
She was a church secretary at New Utrecht Reformed Church in Brooklyn, NY, where she was also a member. She was very active in the church and had been a Sunday School Teacher for several years.
After retiring in 1971, Mrs. Scott and her husband moved to Windham, NY, where they became members of the Windham United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Missions Committee and was very active with the missions in the church.
Her warmth, compassion, sense of humor, and wit touched our lives in indescribable ways. She easily became a mentor, counselor, and friend to many. She defined the phrase “young at heart”. She was an avid reader of books and The New York Times. Her breadth of knowledge seemed unending and her thirst to know more was never quenched. Her creativity could be seen in her photography, writing, painting, and other artistic endeavors. She had a love for nature and would always appreciate what each season had to offer. Her generous and caring ways were apparent in everyday gestures and through her charitable giving. She was always ready for a game or Scrabble. Her love and support will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
The widow of George Scott, members of her family include her daughter, Carol Urmston and her husband, William of Dover, her son Thomas Scott and his wife, Joan of Leola, PA; 5 grandchildren, Richard Urmston, Douglas Urmston, Heather Urmston, Andrea Schutzman and Thomas Scott, and 7 great grandchildren.
There are no visiting hours. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 21, at 2:00 p.m. at the Windham United Methodist Church in Windham, NY, with the Reverend Ellen Oliveto officiating. Burial will follow in the family lot at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Ashland, NY.

MARIE LEONA (VINING) WHITE
Marie Leona (Vining) White, age 91, of Rochester, NY, formerly of East Jewett, NY, died on April 5, 2007, at the St. John’s Nursing Home, Rochester, NY.
She was born on Oct. 16, 1915, in Hensonville, NY, the daughter of Willis and Lizzie (Mallory) Dunham.
She was predeceased by her husband Alfred Vining whom she was married to from 1939 until 1982 and her husband Alfred White whom she was married to from 1983 until 2002, her sister Frances Dunham and her brothers Leon and Elbert Dunham.
She is survived by her children Sally and son-in-law Miles Nelson; her son Donald Vining; step-children Nancy (Richard) LaGoy, Douglas (Jane) White and Connie (Larry) Schutta: grandchildren David (Melissa) Nelson, Diane (David) Bicksler, Jeanne (Carl) Keller, James (Robyn) Vining; great-grandchildren Ashley and Andrew Nelson, Christie and Paul Bicksler and Jackson and Elizabeth Vining; step-grandchildren Heather and Laurel White and Stuart and Stephen Schutta.
Marie was a resident of the Mountain Top for 86 years prior to moving to the Rochester area to be with her daughter Sally. She was the former co-owner of the Crystal Spring Farm located in Hensonville, NY, a member of the Maplecrest Free Methodist Church and the Women’s Missionary International. While in Rochester, she attended the Pearce Memorial Church.
A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 10, 2007, at the Decker Funeral Home, Windham, NY. Interment followed at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Ashland, NY.

VESTA MOORE HAUSER
WINDHAM/COBLESKILL – Vesta Moore Hauser, 92, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, April 20, 2007, surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Hauser was born in Windham, NY, in 1914, the daughter of Harold and Mabel Plunkett Moore. She graduated from Windham High School and was valedictorian of her class. She attended Trinity College in Washington, D. C. and was a graduate of St. Joseph’s College in Brooklyn, NY. Her degree in Library Science was earned in New York College fro Teachers at Albany.
In 1939, she married Harold Hauser, who died in 1961. She was an English teacher and then librarian at Windham-Ashland-Jewett Central School. She retired in 1976 as Library Department Chairman from Cobleskill Central School where she had been employed since 1957.
Mrs. Hauser was active in social and humanitarian affairs all her life. She served as President of the Altar Society of St. Theresa’s Church in Windham, NY, President of New Century Club of Cobleskill, Schoharie County Chairman and Vice-President and Recording Secretary of New York State Federation of the Women’s Clubs. After her term as President of the Hospital Auxiliary of Community Hospital of Schoharie County, she served on the Executive Committee of the Hospital Association of New York State. She served on the Board of Cobleskill Restoration and Development and was a member of Cobleskill Historical Society. Mrs. Hauser served on the Board of Directors of Friends of Bassett and also on the Interim Board of Community Hospital of Schoharie County.
Survivors are a daughter, Jane Hauser Cromwell of Rochester Hills, Michigan: three sons, John M. Hauser of Cobleskill, Paul A. Hauser of Niverville; and Mark J. Hauser of Ballston Spa; ten grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Following cremation, burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Windham, NY. Services will be private. Donations may be made to Catskill Area Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc., at 327 W. Main St., Suite 3, Cobleskill, NY 12043.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Decker Funeral Home, Windham, NY.

EMMA H. JAUCH
TANNERSVILLE – Emma H. Jauch, 90 years old, passed away April 18 at the Robinson Terrace in Stamford, NY.
She was born April 16, 1917 to the late Otto and Hedwig Klein Reichelt in Clifton, NJ.
She was the owner of the former Sky Meadows Boarding House for over 40 years in Spruceton, NY.
She attended the Kaaterskill United Methodist Church in Tannersville for several years and was a member of the Home Bureau Club of New York State.
Survivors include one son, Robert Jauch and his wife Barbara of Bloomfield, NY; one daughter, Fritzie Martin and her husband Ludwig Schmidt of Hunter; a sister, Clara Jones of Anchorage, Alaska; four grandchildren, Kristina Martin, Kristen Martin, Matthew Jauch and Michael Jauch; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her husband Fritz Jauch in 1986.
A memorial service will be held on May 19 at 11 a.m. at the Aston-Basagic Funeral Home, 7742 Main Street, Hunter, NY. Officiating will be the Rev. Karen Monk.

TAMMY L. JONES
NEVERSINK/PRATTSVILLE – Tammy L. Jones, 46, a homemaker and Licensed Practical Nurse, passed away on Sunday, April 15, 2007, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
The daughter of Rudolph and Joan Lane Ehlers, she was born on November 8, 1960, in Margaretsville, NY. Tammy was a member of the Liberty Free Methodist Church.
She is survived by her parents, Rudolph and Joan Ehlers of Prattsville, NY; her husband, William J. Jones at home; 2 daughters, Colleen Jones at home and Jennifer Siegler and her husband Thomas Siegler of Neversink; a brother Richard and his wife Eileen of Olathe, Kansas, 3 sisters, Lila Kratochvil and her husband Christopher of Grand Gorge, NY, Barbara Brent and husband Dominic of Oneonta and Kristin Tompkins and her husband Christopher of Prattsville; a grandchild Jayden Siegler and several aunts, uncles nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services were held at the Liberty Free Methodist Church in Liberty on April 19, 2007. Rev. David McCarthy and Rev. Alan Wachter officiated. Burial was in Rural Cemetery, Grahamsville, NY.

THOMAS LARRY YAGER
TANNERSVILLE – Thomas Larry Yager, 59, passed away on Thursday, April 12, 2007, at the Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson after a long illness, surrounded by his family.
Thomas was born on May 29, 1947 in Tannersville, the son of the late Charles and Clementine Yager. Thomas was baptized on August 31, 1947, in St. John’s Church in Tannersville.
Mr. Yager served in the United States Navy from October 1966 to July 1972. He was employed as a carpenter with the United Brotherhood of Carpenters for 28 years, recently with Local 19. He was a member of the Haines Falls Fire Company and Bunt Brewer Post 165.
Survivors include: his wife, Hope M. Angle Yager, whom he married on March 23, 1991, in Tannersville; a devoted father to one son, Kevin Thomas, and two daughters Crystal Lee and Kaylee Marie, all of Haines Falls. He had one godchild Melissa Feml; three brothers Donald of Elka Park, Frank of Tannersville and Charles of Haines Falls; two sisters Betty Garrison of Tannersville and Beverly Feml of Haines Falls. He also has several nieces and nephews.
Services were conducted on Tuesday, April 17, 2007, at the Kaaterskill United Methodist Church in Tannersville, with Rev. Karen Monk officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Tannersville.
Memorial contributions may be made in Thomas’ name to the “Stain Glass Restoration Memorial Fund” at the Kaaterskill United Methodist Church, Tannersville, NY.
